THG celebrated November birthdays last week, one of which was our founder Phil Hettema!  Warm wishes to Phil, Scott, Monica, Jason, Dan, Ashley, Skylar, and Anthony. 

The Hettema Group receives 2015 American Leadership Award

November 25th 2015 -  TheHettema Group was selected for the 2015 American Leadership Award amongst all its peers and competitors by the American Economic Institute (AEI).

Each year the AEI conducts business surveys and industry research to identify companies that have achieved demonstrable success in their local business environment and industry category. They are recognized as having enhanced the commitment and contribution of small businesses through service to their customers and community. 

The Hettema Group has consistently demonstrated a high regard for upholding business ethics and company values. This recognition by AEI marks a significant achievement as an emerging leader within various competitors and is setting benchmarks that the industry should follow.

As part of the industry research and business surveys, various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the selected companies in each category. This research is part of an exhaustive process that encapsulates a year long immersion in its business climate.

One World Observatory SkyPod Elevator wins 1st place in Elevator World's 2016 Project of the Year contest

The journey to One World Observatory in New York City transports guests via an

unforgettable and immersive virtual flight through time, while the elevator cabin

physically moves at 23 miles per hour (2,000 feet per minute) as it climbs to the 1,268-foot summit of the building. The five high-tech elevators, dubbed “SkyPods”, are the

most sophisticated and technically challenging integration of media and elevator system

ever achieved. These are the fastest and highest elevators operating in the Northern Western Hemisphere.

One World SkyPod Elevator won 1st place in Category 1: Elevators, New Construction in Elevator World's 2016 Project of the Year contest.  The project will be highlighted in the January 2016 issue of Elevator World, along with the 1st place winners in the remaining categories.

THG Halloween 2015

The Hettema Group took time out of our busy day this past Friday to celebrate Halloween.  The THG Administrative team was kind enough to invite the whole group to a formal gathering of lunch, sweet treats, and a wide spectrum of costumes.

Our casual morning walk to our desks was transformed into a runway of famous Star Wars characters, growling zombies, space cowboys, and the infamous Colonel Sanders.  Around noon the whole team gathered at Happy Trails Catering, in Pasadena, for a delicious lunch and costume competition.  We have to formally thank the Happy Trails staff for behaving as judges that day; we had our employees Keith Kaminski, Nicole Balderrama, and David Lepor, take 1^2t 2^nd and 3^rd prize that day.
